Google Labs has activated a new feature that will automagically append your location to your signature in your emails.

I love this idea. If you run your own website or blog and get a lot of feedback or even if you use email as your primary form of communication, it’s a great idea to let people see where you are emailing from.

Another great application of this is if you do a lot of traveling and use email to keep in touch with family and friends. They can always see where you are from one day to the next.

Of course, you could just want to show off where you’re from, even if you’re boring and hardly ever travel like me.

Anyway, if you want to give this a try it’s super easy to activate.

Go into Labs in your Gmail account and activate the feature, then go into your your Settings under the General tab and check “Append your location to the signature”. That’s it. Gmail does advise that enabling Gears.
