Palin didn’t know Africa was a Continent

This is going to be a fun few days, McCain’s campaign is already throwing Palin to the wolves.  Apparently she was basically a “hail mary” pick and McCain and his people were just as shocked as the rest of us to find out she was as dumb as a rock and nuttier than a fruit cake.  You know it’s bad when it’s Fox News dishing all this.

They mention in the piece that according to polls Obama’s numbers started to rise the day after Palin’s interview with Katie Couric.  Pew pew.

Obama and McCain Spar With Jokes at Alfred E. Smith Dinner

I have to warn you it’s a bit of a shock to the system to see a man who may be President of the United States and can formulate a complete sentence.  Watch at your own risk.

Joe the Plumber a Fake?

In what is probably not a shock to very many people at all, one of McCain’s biggest talking points in last night’s debate seems to be a bit of an enigma to put it kindly.  A Republican plant or just a Republican schlub looking for 15 minutes of fame is far more likely.  Either way, it seems important to reveal that Joe the Plumber is anything but a truthful, small businessman seriously concerned about the Obama tax plan.

First and foremost, Joe isn’t even a plumber, at least not a licensed one.

An official at Local 50 of the plumber’s union, based in Toledo, said Mr. Wurzelbacher does not hold a license. He also has never served an apprenticeship and does not belong to the union. (The national plumber’s union, the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters, and Service Mechanics, endorsed Mr. Obama, it should be noted.)

“All contractors are licensed, and he does not have a license, either as a contractor or a plumber,” the union official said, citing a search of government records. “I can’t find that he’s ever even applied for any kind of apprenticeship, and he has never belonged to local 189 in Columbus, which is what he claims on his Facebook page.”

For anyone that’s ever dealt with an unlicensed contractor not much explanation is necessary to realize how much trouble you could be looking for by dealing with someone who’s made it their business to stay out of the regulating committee of their chosen profession.  No rules to abide by and no authority to complain to when you feel you’ve been wronged.

Inquiry Concludes Palin Abused Her Powers, Was Well Within Her Right to Do So…HUH?

It seems that the Alaskan inquiry into Palin’s abuse of power as Governor to pressure subordinates into firing her ex-brother-in-law was right and wrong.  Well, that was money well spent.  Thanks Alaska.

You see, according to the investigation by the Alaska Legislature Governor Palin was abusing her power by trying to pressure the public safety commissioner to fire her former brother-in-law.  But she was well within her rights however to fire the public safety commissioner after he refused to fire said brother-in-law.

“Such impermissible and repeated contacts,” the report states, “create conflicts of interests for subordinate employees who must choose to either please a superior or run the risk of facing that superior’s displeasure and the possible consequences of that displeasure.” The report concludes that the action was a violation of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.

The report says she knowingly “permitted Todd Palin to use the governor’s office and the resources of the governor’s office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired.”

Further, it says, she “knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda.”

Sound confusing?  That’s because you’re not a politician and haven’t been schooled in the art of surreptitious morality riddles.  Now shut up and go shopping or we’ll report you to the DHS.

Besides, Palin’s a maverick bitches, she don’t need to “follow rules”.  She’s an outsider that abuses her power for her own best interest, pew pew.
